Thugs raided the homestead of a Pastor in the Malaa area of Matungulu, Machakos county on Monday night and stole one of his sheep before slaughtering it.

Speaking to the Nairobian, Pastor Edwin Waweru of Kenya Assemblies of God (KAG) Misuuni Church said the thugs cut the barbed wire before accessing an area reserved for keeping animals.

“They took advantage of the rain that was pounding during the night to steal my sheep,” said Waweru.

He said they slaughtered it a few metres away in a farm belonging to his neighbour and went away with the meat.

The pastor added that were it not for his shamba boy who heard the noise made by other livestock and came outside, more animals would have been stolen.

Waweru said apart from being a farmer he rears chicken, cows, goats and sheep. He reported the matter at the KBC police post, about 5km from his residence and booked under OB number 10/14/11/2023.

Matungulu OCPD Peter Omondi confirmed the incident and warned suspects who are stealing livestock in the area during this rainy period, saying those found will be arrested and charged.
